Recreational attractions in St. Mary's County are centered around our location. Because we are bordered by the Potomac and Patuxent Rivers and the Chesapeake Bay, we have excellent fishing, crabbing, and water sports. Additionally, the county has many historical attractions related to its role as one of the first British settlements in the Americas.

Fishing and Crabbing
Guests at Camp Merryelande can use the pier for recreational fishing and crabbing. More serious fisherman may want to participate in the local charter boat fishing. One of the numerous charter boats is docked about 10 minutes from us and owned by Captain Bob at (301)994-1797.

Other Activities
Nearby activities include Chesapeake Bay Skipjack Tours with Captain Jack (301-994-2245), the historic Piney Point Lighthouse (301-994-1471), the Calvert Marine Museum on Solomons Island (410-326-2042), and historic St. Mary's City.
